We Need a Heart Transplant

Where does the hate and the pride, lust and jealousy come from? Why do people rage, fight and kill one another? Why is there a war in every generation of mankind? You hear all the time that people should be kind to one another. We should be tolerant and “live and let live.” People want peace, yet they hate one another. Why?

It is from our hearts.

Evil and wicked desires flow not from outside of ourselves, but from the inside. The heart is a universal symbol of love, yet the Bible tells us that from a person’s heart comes the evils of life.

Matthew 15:19, “From from the heart comes evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.”

People say to just follow your heart, but if we are honest with ourselves, most of us would rush straight to damnation if we followed the desires of our hearts.

Jesus said that we are not defiled by what we eat or drink. We are defiled by what comes from within ourselves. The heart is desperately wicked and deceitful above all things, who can know it? It is beyond our understanding, and yet it ruins our lives.

We live not with a race or a sexuality problem. Ours is not a fighting and a war problem. We have a heart problem! How can we be saved from such a lustful, prideful, and evil machine?

Jesus Christ says that we must be born again. Our lives and our hearts must be transformed. Born anew, not of the flesh, but of the Holy Spirit. We are told to love one another, but with our earthly hearts we lack the capacity for true Godly love. We must have our heart changed by the Holy Spirit.

Only through the Spirit can we have that good fruit Jesus speaks of. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the fruits of the Spirit. There are no laws against such true and beautiful things, because they are good and right and pure. They are far beyond what you and I can do by ourselves.

We must be dominated by this kind of love. That love is from only God Himself. We must share in that love, the love demonstrated by Jesus on the cross.

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”

That is love. Truest and highest love. So far beyond our ways as Heaven is above the earth. Unattainable by our own wicked hearts. We need a heart transplant.

We need the heart of God in order to love like we were created for. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life today and have your heart changed forever. Peace, joy, and a love like you’ve never known awaits you!

God’s blessings to you.
