Whatever you focus on gets bigger. For instance, the sun is trillions of times bigger than your thumb. However, if you hold your thumbs too close to your eyes, they can block out the sun.
Now think about your problems. There’s probably one that grabs your attention first. How bad is it? Does it affect only you, or maybe even your family or friends? How long have you been dealing with it?
As a police officer, I would have people call the emergency number to report a problem they needed help with. Whether a man with a gun or their cat stuck in a tree, whatever that person dialed 911 about was the most important thing in their lives at that point in time. They needed help NOW! That was their only focus at that time.
Many people focus solely on problems. Big ones, small ones, all kind of problems. Oftentimes, they see the bad in life so much that they don’t see any good anymore. They end up forgetting to prioritize their health or even their own families.
There comes a time when you must stop and smell the roses, like the old saying goes. If you go from one problem to the next, you end up missing the good things in life. Worse yet, you don’t even truly fix the last problem fully.l because you couldn’t focus your energy. So many problems, so little time.
You need to let go of those problems as let God fight your battles. Most of the problems you worry about don’t even come to fruition anyway. God has a plan and He has already orchestrated the solutions. nothing catches Him by surprise.
The Bible says that God is our ever present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1) and that He be with us, help us, and hold us up (Isaiah 41:10). In fact, the Bible is filled with verses of encouragement during hard times, telling us to focus more on God rather than our problems.
I find it interesting that there are 365 mentions of “don’t worry / be not afraid” in the Bible. 365! That’s one “don’t worry” from our Lord and Savor for every day of the year.
The Bible starts off with “In the beginning, God…”. If you believe in those four words, it’s not a stretch at all to think that God will take care of you like He promises. His word is always perfect and true. When all else fails, God still will not fail.
God loves you and will always take care of you. God loves you so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for your sins. He paid the price for your bad deeds so that you could be allowed into Heaven forever, to live with peace, joy, and a love like you’ve never known.
Accept God’s help into your life. Focus more upon God and His majesty rather than your momentary problems. They shall pass. Don’t complain about how big your problems are, tell your problems how big your God is.
God’s blessings to you!
DH
